2016 HCIM All Colleague Meeting and Annual Giveback Raises the Bar!

What sets HCIM apart is our culture and our people. The organization is comprised of individuals who are all passionately committed to the success of our clients and the healthcare industry as a whole. We don’t believe in the status quo and as an example of this, the architecture of our company is a virtual one. While this structure allows us to be flexible, efficient, and the most responsive to our clients’ needs, this also means there is no office building our colleagues report to daily. There’s no break room where your sandwich might “disappear” or where you hear about someone’s weekend plans. The importance of connecting as a team is still of vital importance to any organization’s success. The annual All Colleague Meeting (ACM) is one opportunity for HCIM to come together, connect with our colleagues, and focus on our shared strategic goals.

For 2016, the HCIM Family of Colleagues traveled to Austin, Texas for three days filled with strategic planning, interactive sessions, team building exercises, and insight from industry leaders, with plenty of fun and comradery thrown into the mix. The meetings were held at the historic Driskill Hotel, a famed landmark of Austin’s 6th Street. Lyndon B. Johnson stayed dozens of times and even met his wife Lady Bird there. He proposed to her in the Driskill dining room and thought so much of the grand hotel that he headquartered his various campaigns from there. It was the site where he received the results of his 1964 presidential win, even making a speech from the balcony of the hotel.

While everyone enjoyed their time at this icon of Texas hospitality, the team held true to the core values of the company and ensured they left a legacy of their own. The cornerstone of HCIM’s culture is the commitment to leaving the communities they live in, work in, and visit better off than when they arrived. As with everything else associated with the ACM this year, the colleagues took this to the next level. HCIM made a combined corporate donation of $2,000 to both The Dell Children’s Medical Center and Austin Pets Alive (APA!). The giving didn’t stop there. HCIM colleagues also came together and personally donated nearly $1,000 worth of much-needed supplies and gift cards to APA! and our CEO personally donated $500 to each organization.

To reward the team for all they do, the colleagues were treated to a private event where they enjoyed an evening of delicious Texas barbecue and kicked up their heels with some Austin style two-steppin’. Their visit to the Live Music Capital of the World was topped off by a private performance from CMT Top Ten artist Wayne Garner!
